Romance in chat fiction works differently to romance in prose. There is no narrator to tell you that she hesitated before replying; you just watch the typing indicator, and the gap does the work. The stories collected here lean on that: the unanswered message, the read receipt, the reply that arrives four hours later and says only "sorry, busy day".
Most of what you will find in this category is slow. Chapters are short and arrive in sequence, so a relationship that would take forty pages in a novel takes fifteen exchanges here, and you feel every one of them.
